There is none stop chanting of “USA, USA, USA!”. Independence Day is not just a film about Aliens on the 4th of July You never thought you’d feel so patriotic for a country you’re not from but here you are belting out the National Anthem like you didn’t just learn the words two weeks ago. Red, white and blue are everywhere and you feel like you are in a fresh tube of Colgate toothpaste. It’s time to celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave and boy are you in for a treat. It’s your first 4th of July in America and every American’s favourite day. My camp organizes transport from Grand Central, so I have their number saved. When I travel, I have all the bus times from the airport in Newark to Grand Central screenshotted on my phone and I have notes too. Landing in Americaīefore you fly, your route from the airport to camp will be fully planned out. Yes, it means getting up super early and hanging around the airport, but it’s better than being late. I make sure I’m really early for my flight. I make sure my passport and all the documents I need are ready in my bum bag and even have copies in my carry on.
